People and Faces fascinate me. A face is like a landscape with hills and valleys, runnels and roads and pools. Each nose, eye, ear, wrinkle, contribute to each person's unique appearance and personality.

I like to try and capture the essence of the person I'm drawing, so that the viewer engages with the person in the portrait.

Here is a selection of portraits I have done, in graphite and coloured pencil.

My favourite medium for portraits is graphite. I enjoy the simplicity of monchromatic pictures with the focus on the personality and face without the distraction of colour.
