The McDonald Family Rescue has made quite a name for itself in the small world of animal rights. Because of their radical and sometimes terrorist actions involving demonstrations, hate propaganda and shock tactics The McDonald Family Rescue has quite a negative reputation even among would be fellow animal welfare people. The McDonald Family Rescue has been banned from several animal related discussion groups on the Internet, Voice For Animals out of Edmonton has also canceled their membership and shunned the so called organization. YouTube, Facebook, Blogsource, Kijiji and several other chat groups or media sharing Internet sites have suspended The McDonald Family Rescue's accounts for continually disrespecting their Terms of Use and User Agreements. This doesn’t stop them however; the organization just logs on under an alias and continues their hate propaganda and the posting of libel information.
What we know about The McDonald Family Rescue: it is run by a teen-aged, self proclaimed animal expert, who boasts being a vegan, bisexual, insomniac. The McDonald Family Rescue openly admits hating humanity and even themselves for being human. We also know that The McDonald Family Rescue is a store front for funding Animal Rights Terrorist groups. The monies collected from the sale of "rescued" animals not only lines the pockets of the owners of The McDonald Family Rescue but also to fund other animal extremists groups who believe in physical violence to achieve their goals. The ALF (Animal Liberation Front) is only one well known extremist group who resorts to violence in the name of animal freedom.
The McDonald Family Rescue seems to spend a great deal of time and effort criticizing a small private zoo in their area. This is a zoo, with lions and tigers and many other animals. The McDonald Family Rescue , whose only experience with animal husbandry has never involved anything larger then a Saint Bernard Dog, has a lot to say about how this zoo houses their animals. The McDonald Family Rescue claims Zoocheck Canada hired them and they (The McDonald Family Rescue) sent a 13 year old representative to be an expert zoo inspector. If only The McDonald Family Rescue knew how ridiculous that sounded. A 13 year old could not be an expert in anything, let alone exotic zoo animal husbandry. The McDonald Family Rescue writes lengthy captions beside photos they post on their website explaining how deficient each and every environment for all the zoo animals are and then offers their “expert” opinion on how things SHOULD be. As if they would know. To defend themselves, The McDonald Family Rescue states on their web site that they have studied large cats and other zoo animals extensively by reading books about them. Ha! I read Moby Dick, but that doesn’t make me an expert on Sperm Whales!
It would seem The McDonald Family Rescue spends a lot of time protesting and demonstrating animal causes throughout Edmonton. This is what the organization has accomplished so far. The McDonald Family Rescue has been banned from West Edmonton Mall for miss conduct and causing mischief. It has been banned from stepping foot in Rexall Place for a protest demonstration they participated in there. The saddest part about this whole thing is that The McDonald Family Rescue is proud of this reputation. Here are their own words concerning the events:
"We've all got a life ban from West Edmonton Mall, where they keep sea lions and other assorted animals, and I am currently waiting for my two year ban from Rexall Place to wear off. Rexall hosts the Shrine Circus, Horse Races, etc. I, and a few other activists, ran out into the center ring with a banner and were arrested. We pleaded not guilty, and the case was dropped, but I am still banned from Rexall. Oh well! "
Most teenagers are proud of and share with others about their basketball team winning the regionals, or about making the honor roll for the third year running, but not McDonald Family Rescue member , she thinks being arrested will win admirers.
