Looking Forward to A Brighter Future

With the new legion of students joining the bands of other residential schools, the Malay College is poised at maintaining its status as one of the best schools around, and it's Headmaster has several ideas waiting to be implemented. Here, he shares his views, opinions and ideas.

According to him, students admitted to the College will be the best students around, with the best grades and outstanding performance in co-curricular activities. They will be instilled with excellent leadership qualities and will poise to excel in all fields; academic, co-curriculum and discipline, hence producing a 'model student', putting an MCKK student in a class of its own.

There will also be a revamp in the Administrative Unit, where everyone will work together as a team and develop one self and each other.

Included in his vision are added facilities, which will comprise of flexible, multifunctional buildings and complexes, which is adaptable to all occasions. More futuristic plans are already under way. About RM 2.1 million is given by the Malay College Old Boys Association (MCOBA), and RM 700,000.00 from the total amount is for the development of the Malay College Infolab, which currently hosts 30 computers and a fast Intranet system with its own server and a leased line connection to the Internet.

Under the College Excellence Program, there will be sessions for both students and teachers in team building, guidance and training.

To sum up, the College is heading towards a brighter and better future with the best results possible, thanks to additional infrastructure and bright ideas from the Administration. There will be more emphasis on group learning and with the advancement in today's ever changing world, computer technology and current teaching methods will be integrated to create a more interesting way to learn. Such unique marriage between the old and new will put this 92 year old institution into its rightful place. As R.J. Wilkinson , Inspector Of Schools of The Federated Malay States said in 1903; "(The College will produce) a vigorous and intelligent race of young men, who will be in touch with modern progress but not out of touch with their own families and people and who will be fit to do something in the world."
