MilleniumIndia.org is the result of Mrs. Sunita Poddar's vision and efforts. Presently settled in Glasgow (UK), she is an active social worker and an ardent devotee of Swami Ramdev Baba. On coming to know about the invitation received by Swami Ramdev Baba from the United Nations, Mrs. Poddar wanted to spread the word around the world and garner as much support for the cause as possible.

Says Mrs. Sunita Poddar, "It is a matter of great pride for India that Baba Ramdev has been invited by the World Body to represent India and speak to the gathering there."

The MilleniumIndia.org Team wants the maximum number of people in India to organize "Stand Up" events between October 15 and 16, '2006 and contribute to the noble cause.

Stand Up because:

- Every day 24,000 people die from hunger
- Every day more than 100 million children are denied the chance to go to school
- Every day 1.1 billion people have to drink polluted water
- Every day 8,200 people die due to HIV/AIDS
