This three year-plus project consists of these major construction phases

3300 linear feet of new railroad track

·         Track raised between two and five feet in elevation

·         New higher track approximately 35 feet east of existing track

·         Track raised from South Soscol Avenue crossing to Napa Street

           -   May 9^th through July 1^st 2011

           -   January 9^th through January 27^th 2012

·            Three feet higher in elevation

·         Partial lane closures, no complete street closure, one lane maintained in each direction

          -   February 1st through February 26^th 2010

          -   April 14^th through May 4^th 2010

          -   June 1^st through November 8^th 2010

·         Reconstruction of streets, sidewalks, ramps and driveways

         -   June 15^th through July 3^rd 2011

         -   July 5^th through August 10^th 2011

        -    January 9^th through January 27^th 2012

North Soscol rail crossing

      ·         New rail placed at adjacent alignment

      ·         Intermittent lane closures throughout the project duration

      ·         One lane in each direction maintained during lane closures

      ·         Lane closure schedule:

                -   August 24^th through September 16^th 2010

                -   December 27^th through December 30^th 2010

                -   February 25^th through March 3^rd 2011

                                  COMPLETE

·         Five feet higher in elevation

·         Partial lane closures (road open to EB traffic only)

          -   March 1^st through March 12^th 2010

·         Complete street closure between Soscol Avenue and McKinstry Street

          -   March 15^th through June 16^st 2010

          -   July 11^th through August 5^th 2011

First Street at ribbon cutting - March 2010           ·         Reconstruction of streets, sidewalks, ramps and driveways

·         Complete street closure between Soscol Avenue and Burnell Street

          -   August 16^th through December 15^th 2010

          -   June 13^th through July 8^th 2011

·         Lawrence Street will become northbound only permanently

·         Reconstruction of streets, sidewalks, ramps and driveways

·         Parallels Soscol Avenue and McKinstry St.

·         Between Napa Valley Wine Train station and First Street

·         First half complete - May 2011

·         Bypass portion complete - May 2012

·            North of first Street

·         Four feet higher in elevation

·         35 feet to the east of the existing bridge

·         Eliminates the railroad bridge as a flood obstruction

·         Two houses demolished for new track alignment

·         Complete - June 2011
