Concrete Pour - Tomorrow

·         The subcontractor has a concrete pour scheduled for the Dry Bypass Bridge tomorrow, Thursday January 5, 2012.  The pour will begin early in the morning at 4:00 am to avoid causing traffic congestion on First Street and Soscol Avenue during the day. The pour will be at Pier #2 which is the southerly end of the bridge near the Flood Control Building. There will be one pump receiving trucks in the McKinstry Street yard across from the Suulutaaq offices. Trucks for the McKinstry Street yard travel South Soscol Avenue, east on First Street, north on McKinstry Street to the yard entrance. These trucks will exit McKinstry Street to First Street, then east to Silverado Trail. These routes are intended to cause minimal impact to any residences. No trucks will run in front of the Westin on McKinstry Street.  The pour is expected to be completed by 8:00 am.

Closure on Soscol Avanue

·         Beginning Monday, January 16 through Friday, January 20, Suulutaaq will be closing the South Bound lanes of Soscol Avenue from McKinstry Street. to Clinton Street. There will be one lane of traffic each way on the existing North Bound lanes. Access into McKinstry Street. from the South Bound lanes will be closed for safety reasons. Concrete Pour for the Dry Bridge Bypass Bridge tomorrow December 14th
by napafloodcontrol on

The City has given approval for the contractor to conduct an early morning pour for the Dry Bypass Bridge Pier 4 on Wednesday December 14.  The pour is set to begin at 3:00 am to avoid causing traffic congestion on Soscol Avenue during the day. The pour will be at Pier #4 which is the in the north end of the bridge.   There will be one pump located west of the bridge receiving trucks.

Due to the construction activity at the south end of the bridge, the concrete trucks will not be able to enter the site from First Street.  Instead, they will enter from North Soscol Avenue.  This will require a north-bound lane closure and the same plan used over the past 4 months will occur.  The traffic impact of the lane closure at this early hour should be minimal.

There will not be any trucks running in front of the Westin on McKinstry Street and the pour is expected to be completed by 7:30 am.
