July 2008
We'll be rethinking our club mission. Because we would like to include more of the arts into our programs, we'll be opening up the group to many different art forms. We'll be introducing more Landscape, Figures and 'other' art forms. We will still have the horse as a large part of our group, but we want to expand with the arts. So stayed tuned for more about this.
We also plan on holding monthly meetings and get togethers. We will have a workshop of demonstrations or a time to go and paint in solitude on the farm for a very small fee each month. NEEAE will be working on gaining more club memberships and bring in area artists to the NEEAE meetings and to give demos and so on. If you have something you would like to see or try at a meeting, please let us know and we'll see what we can do. We would like more members involvement to be able to give the artists what they need or want. If you know an artist in the area (Maine) that you would like to see a demo from, let us know.
Just a  day to get together and paint would be fun too, under no instruction, bring your own supplies and a small suggested donation for use of the buildings and animals.

Another avenue we want to go down is having a member exhibit.  At the moment, heads have gotten together to come up with a Gallery venue to hold a membership Exhibit, lasting up to a month in well traveled areas in Maine.  This exhibit will probably take place in 2009 or 2010, as many Galleries are booked in advance. NEEAE would like to make this an annual event and possibly turn it into an invitational as well as member exhibit. Or hold two separate exhibits. But we must focus on one at a time.
Any suggestions are welcome and encouraged.

Jennie Scott, from Australia, wasn't able to find it in her schedule to come back this year and instruct a workshop. But she is in close contact with us many times and she may make it back another year. We hope!

There is still time and openings left in our current workshops if you've been contemplating taking a class. Now's the time to sign up. Contact
Deb Flood for sign up or call Deb at  (207)-338-3856, or sign up on the workshop page using Paypal.

Thank you for checking in here and embracing our new and exciting changes!
More to come later.
