RU Rheti for Casual Programming? I know I'm Rheti for Casual Programming! After spending a weekend banging my head against an app idea, I'm frustrated and more dedicated to making programming easier. I'm not one of those super geeks that can touch a keyboard and compose works of art, but I do pride myself in being skilled enough to be in the company of super geeks.
It doesn't matter tho, even as a competent computer programmer, I believe that technology continues to evolve at a dizzying rate. Every day, with every new solution it becomes more and more difficult to keep up with the latest innovations.
As I just said, I spent the weekend banging my head against an amazing app idea and it left me feeling exhausted, weak and wondering if I like my job. I'd complain about my "challenging" weekend; however, I chose this career and I love my work. I love technology, and I love the technology that mobile devices have made available to me, my fellow humans and animals around the world.
Animals? Mobile Phones? Battered Women? What?
I hear you, why am I talking about animals, domestic violence HopeLines and programming in the same sentence? Because human, animal and environmental rescue efforts have been advanced by mobile technology. The only problem is that technology is expensive, and the programs to control the technology is even more expensive. With a shortage of developers to manage, dictate and control the tools we use to simplify life, it will become important for each of us to take programming into our own hands.
Ah, back to my original statement. Why does it have to be so difficult to keep up with technology? Isn't there an easier way to interact with your electronics, home, car and city you live in?
