The Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition has a well earned reputation for attracting highly exciting young exhibitors, alongside the much admired, more established member artists. This year the trend will continue, with new artists and new discoveries waiting to be made. The exhibition gives visitors the opportunity to see the many and varied ways in which artists use oil paint today, from a traditional approach to this highly technical media through to more innovative uses of material, style and content. ... 12 - 22 Nov 2015, Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1
The ING Discerning Eye Exhibition is a show of small works independently selected by six prominent figures from different areas of the art world: two artist, two collectors and two critics. Work is selected from open submission and with works by artists invited by the individual selectors. Each section is hung separately to give each its own distinctive identity. The impression emerges of six small exhibitions within the whole. It provides an unusual opportunity for works by lesser-known artists to be hung alongside contributions from internationally-recognised names. More . . .

I've always thought of myself as an urban artist . . . but not in the conventional sense. So I was delighted when Coates & Scarry invited me to participate in the Stroke Urban Art Fair in Munich. This is an amazing event and one that I'm very much looking forward to going along to.
Stroke Urban Art FairCoates & Scarry Stand, Stroke Art Fair, Praterinsel, Munich, Germany
They asked me to create a series of paintings for the event that are more edgy/street than my usual "Zen" feel. This was a great project and one that I have very much enjoyed undertaking.
The work has a more edgy feel to it . . . and has opened new areas for me to develop into, that will sit comfortably alongside my established style. STROKE URBAN ART FAIR

"John" and "The Heart of Failure"
"John", 16" x 12", Oil on Panel
A portrait of actor John Sarbutt as featured in my recent Blog
Listen to The Heart of Failure by Cassandra Tribe while looking at John's Portrait. This track taps into my deepest emotions and was an inspiration for me when painting"John".
I believe that it is extremely rare for a painting to be truly portrayed by music and spoken word . . .or music and spoken word to be truely portrayed by a painting . . . but . . ."The Heart of Failure" and "John" have achieved this rare state and are deeply connected.

"Fagan's Fortune" by Nigel Cox was Auctioned for Charity making 4,200.- for the Terrence Higgins Trust.
The Lighthouse Gala Auction 2007 at Christie's has become a fixture in the social calendars of London's most fashionable set and raises much-needed funds for Terrence Higgins Trust, Europe's leading HIV charity.
Nigel Cox donated his oil painting "Fagan's Fortune" to be auctioned for charity at this event.
The Lighthouse Gala Auction is one of London's most successful charity auctions. It is held each March in the stunning Great Rooms of Christie's, St James's.Only at the Lighthouse Gala Auction could you bid for a counselling session with Joan Rivers, a date with George Michael, lunch with Jackie Collins, tea with Jeffrey Archer, or a shopping spree with Joanna Lumley.
Art lover? Take your pick from original works by Damian Hirst, Tracey Emin, Patrick Lichfield, Wolfgang Tillmans, Mario Testino and Nigel Cox.
For pure fun-seekers there's been pole dancing and flying trapeze lessons, nude portrait commissions, and the chance to fritter away the services of your own personal butler for the day.
Over the last 10 years we have seen some fabulous and unique lots come under the hammer at the Lighthouse Gala Auction. Its reputation as an outrageously entertaining event has secured its place as a fixture in the calendars of the good and the glamorous. The auction has raised nearly 2 million for our services for people living with, and affected by, HIV and AIDS.
