Update From Randy Fisher
To all Club Bulletin Editors,
NOW HERE IS EVERYTHING YOU WILL NEED..........INCLUDING JUDGING MATRIX, OI AND DISTRICT LOGOS....
Since I don't know who all of the Club Editors are, I would hope that the Presidents, Secretaries or Treasurers, will get this info to them. AND I HOPE THEY WILL READ ALL OF IT!!
Top 10 STAR Bulletin Awards
As the new Optimist year begins, so does the club bulletin contest. Please give your bulletin editors the following information to submit your Club Bulletins. We want to urge you to send your newsletter via email, rather then the U.S. Postal Service. It is much more convenient for all concerned and can be done in color at no cost. A good Bulletin or Newsletter is something that will hold your club together and also can be used as a recruitment tool for possible new members. If you can follow the judging matrix great, but if not then do what works for you to get the word out to your club. I really hope that more clubs will submit their newsletters to the judges, and even if you don't want it to be judged we can still post them to the District website so the rest of the District knows what your club is doing.

Again...if you do not want to submit your bulletin for the contest but would like to have your club activities in the New Mexico/West Texas Bulletin, (THE SUN, SAND & SAGE) please send information and stories to me at Whataguy13@gmail.com. I will be doing as I did this past year...and sending out updates and of course sickness and death notes as needed. But I really hope that we loose fewer Friends this coming year. Everyone would like to know what your club is doing. But why not get the recognition for your hard work. I know what it is like to put a Bulletin out every week or even just once or twice a month, so go for it, and let you and your club be noticed. I have to say that with a District of 49 clubs it is a disappointment that we only have about 8 or so that submit their Bulletins. We only judge one Bulletin each month, for each club, so we can pick it or you can tell us, if you have a special one that you would like us to judge that month.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email or you can even call me at 505-830-0039. I will be glad to help your bulletin editor to produce a good product or help to get one started.
Yours in Optimism,
Randy Fisher
