Pinky & Rosie's - A Memorial   6" x 12"

Rosie & Pinky have a sad story. They arrived in the shelter together because their elderly owner died and they lost their home. The two cats had been together for years and could not be separated however, and sadly, no one wanted to adopt two cats. The shelter tried to adopt one of them to a new home, but she became extremely unhappy, constantly calling for her companion. The new owners felt they had to bring the cat back to the shelter and get another cat in her place. Pinky & Rosie stayed at the shelter so long, they lost their friendliness and became very unhappy. In the end, it seemed as though these two beautiful companions decided it was best to die together than to live without one another and they were eventually euthanized.

This painting was done with Prismacolor colored pencils on Pastelbord.
