Terms & Conditions
Studio Work
A deposit of 50% of the total fee is required before any booking can be taken.
Should you cancel the session within less than 7 days, you lose your deposit. Longer than 7 days and the full amount will be refunded.
All audio files and masters are only released when payment is completed.
The copyright in any recording that has not been paid for remains with Psyco-Central Productions.
Live Work
My invoice will be sent within 24hours of the event. The amount due must be paid within 10 days of the event. This is non-negotiable.
I do not offer 30 days of credit for my services.
Once i am booked and the booking has been confirmed for a show, i am due the agreed fee even if the show does not take place. The only circumstances where i would consider halving my fee would be if there were 28 days or more before the actual event. This may sound harsh, but i often have to turn work down once a booking is confirmed and it's very hard to find work at short notice if the show gets cancelled.
Clients are responsible for all my travel costs to get me to and from the location of the event. Clients will also make sure that there is sufficient food and drinks available at no cost to myself on the day of the event. PD's are expected on tours/gigs and are required in either the local currancy or sterling.
The client understands that i will provide the best service that i am able to. However, sometimes the equipment supplied can let the performance down. I will always do my best to identify these issues before they become a problem, but it is mutually agreed that some things are out of my control. You can lessen the chances of things going wrong by putting me in touch with the PA suppliers as far in advance of the event as possible. This way i can make sure (as much as possible) that the right gear is being supplied.
Composition
When I am hired to write a piece of music for a client, although i may be giving you the right to use the piece of music for a particular project, the copyright in the composition itself remains with me. You are responsible for notifying the appropriate collection societys (PRS) of any and all public performances or broadcasts.
In some cases i may agree to a 'buy out'. This is where I sell you the right to use the piece of music for an agreed amount of time without having to pay any further fees for it's repeated use. In this situation, you are still required to notify the broadcaster (if there is one) of the composer's details in the form of a cue sheet.
Buy Out Conditions
On purchasing a recording from Psyco-Central Productions,
a single non-exclusive license will be granted to use the music subject to the following terms and conditions.
The music purchased may be used by the licensee only for the purpose of synchronization within their own
audio and visual productions for a period of 10 years.
The licensee may not copy, share, lend, duplicate or resell music contained within each recording and/or
license agreement to any other individual. Any attempt to do so will result in criminal prosecution.
Major network and international broadcast of this music is only allowed when a cue sheet is completed
and sent both to the appropriate collection society (PRS) and also to the broadcaster.
The licensee may not re-record or alter the music for the purposes of creating new compositions.
Editing the piece to a required duration is allowed.
Copyright to all music belongs exclusively to Sean J Vincent.
Q - Why do I have to fill out a cue sheet?
A - Cue Sheets mean that each composer can get his/her "performance royalties" from money already paid by the broadcasting company for each minute of music they broadcast. A broadcaster always pays a fee for every second of music they use in their broadcasts. It doesn't matter where that music was obtained, whether the music is royalty free or not, or whether cue sheets are filled in or not - there are no exceptions, they still pay a fee. If cue sheets are filled in and filed correctly, the composer (eventually) gets his share of this - if cue sheets are not properly filled in, the fees are the same, but the money never reaches the composer. Instead the money goes into a 'pool' which is largely divided up amongst the most-performed artists such as the Beatles, U2 etc. No money is saved by not filling in cue sheets.
