Premier Institute introduces Ruby Rails
by Satish Talim on

IIMM Pune a premier management institute in Pune is the first Institute in India to introduce Ruby and Rails for all their Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) courses, starting February 2007.

IIMM
today is ranked as one amongst the top 15 B-Schools in the country (India).
Source: OUTLOOK-Cfore Survey: India's Top B-Schools, September 18, 2006 and Business India, Oct 2006.

This is a move in the right direction as more and more companies are in the need of trained Ruby and Rails personnel in India.

Ruby/Rails Job Board
by Satish Talim on

The Learning Ruby site gets about 400+ hits per day and is increasing steadily. The readers of Learning Ruby are savvy Rails and Ruby developers. They visit this site looking to invest more in their career portfolio. I have been experimenting with hosting a Ruby/Rails Job board on this site and have tied up, a few days back, with JobCoin.

You too can post your Ruby/Rails job requirements here. It normally costs US$ 50-00 per post for a month. The job post will appear immediately on posting, after charging your credit card. No refunds will be granted after that point.

Once a job is posted, it shall also appear on the various Ruby/Rails forums world-wide.

I am also approaching all the companies in India who are working on Ruby/Rails, for the same.

In case you are interested, please click on this link.

You can contact me for any queries and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

It's now official
by Satish Talim on

The Learning Ruby site is now official! The authoritative, main Ruby site now mentions Learning Ruby in their documentation section here.

The site says that Learning Ruby is a
thorough collection of Ruby study notes for those who are new to the language and in search of a solid introduction to Ruby's concepts and constructs.

Site Speeded Up
by Satish Talim on

The site loads faster as I have removed many Javascript menu items from the left-side menu. The entire course contents is available in the Table of Contents (TOC). Also, at the bottom of every page there is a link to the Learning Ruby Navigation, that takes you to either the previous, next topic or the TOC.

As usual please keep sending me your constructive feedback.

Google-powered Ruby Search
by Satish Talim on

A new feature has been added to the Learning Ruby site - a Ruby and Rails search engine powered by Google. You can use it as a quick, reliable way to pin down the Ruby information you need. So far there are 50+ sites in the search engine, including the main reference sites, the Rails forum, and several key weblogs, but I'm adding more sites over time. Leave a comment against this post if you want to suggest a site for the search engine.
