No mater how you look at it - its been a long time coming! Yes, Sheffield Oaks 1st XV have finally got a league fixture win!! The league table is something we can all look at with a sense of pride as it has been alot of hard work to get us where we are now!!
This weeks win takes the slightly older members back to the dark days of 2005 when the first of the new generation joined the club and helped take the Oaks from 8 points clear at the bottom of the table to third from the top by the end of the season.
2009 has seen many positive changes including Oaks move to its new headquarters at Niagara, gain a new coach, floodlights a string of great new signings and now finally a win.
For those who have ridden the rollercoaster that has been Sheffield Oaks RUFC for the last two years in particular, it would appear that the lowest ebb has been and gone. With so many near wins and many more hammerings, Oaks has mannaged to see off the bad times and hopefully usher in a new era.
Come join in Oaks continued growth!! Oaks is open to players of any ability, the closest to town and easy to get to. So regardless of your playing history get down to Oaks and join in! Come down and watch a game and have a beer in the bar that overlooks the pitch.
