Ossett 33 - 3 Sheffield Oaks
This weeks match report is brought to you in association with spell check, and very little fact.

After severe delays in the derby  day traffic surrounding Hillsborough and late withdrawals due to illness, it was a minor miracle Oaks were able to start with 15 men - this was mainly due to Tom W-J's uncanny ability to pull players at of nowhere. We finally got to see Spider's superior ability at being ginger and scrum-half, as well a guest appearance from one of Oaks' London exiles Jim 'Do'. As is getting customary prior to kickoff Ossett ran through some set plays as Oaks made introductions.

Having experienced difficulty earlier in the season against the  strong Ossett pack, Oaks were up against it with two of the front row playing out of position. Nevertheless, and despite never quite achieving the upper hand, the light weight Oaks pack put up a good fight at the scrum against a side who relied heavily on the (massive) power of their tighthead prop.  With little ball coming their way from set pieces Oaks were forced to ruck hard and tackle hard at the fringes to get some scraps for building their attacks.  The half backs marshaled the players around them as phases after phase of pressure was soaked up. At the interval Oaks still appeared to have a look in. (I'm not entirely sure what the score was at this point, they'd scored some and we'd scored three)

Unfortunately the Oaks come back never materialised, and the home team gradually accumulated a large lead.  Ossett were made to work hard for forty minutes to get their points as the game got increasingly physical (dirtier). Ossett deserved the victory and the final score was a fair one, Oaks will be hoping to get more continuity into the side over the coming weeks to help produce the performances they are capable of.

Man of the Match - Spider. Strong organisation of the Oaks defence, and doing what every good scrum half should do, severely piss off the opposition forwards.
D.O.D. - We try to avoid giving this to the dirtiest opposition player, but this week we'll make an exception for the Ossett no.7.
Golden Moment - Starting the game with 15 men.
Quote of the Day - On arrival. 'Alright lads are you here for rugby? Don't leave anything in the changing rooms, they WILL get nicked'
Specials Mentions - Spider, Dale, and Jim 'Do' for stepping into the breach at short notice. Also Chick and Bonzo for volunteering for front row when no one else would, and finally Dan for once again taking on the prop who had torn him in half earlier in the year.
Most Pleased with Himself - Kev. After putting in a few big  hits in defence, even if no one else noticed.
