Are there any photograph requirements?


Yes:

Digital Photos

  • Photo must be a .JPG file
  • Image size must be 1800 x 1200 pixels or larger

 

Scanned Photos

  • Scan your photo at 300 dpi
  • Scan at 150% enlargement of the original photo size

 

Hardcopy Photos

  • You may send a hard copy photo; however, we can not guarantee it's safe return.  If you would like to use a treasured family photo, please make a copy and send that instead.
  • Photos should be no smaller than 4" x 6".  Landscape (horizontal) photos work best.
  • Hardcopy photos should not have writing on the back.  The pressure from the pen may cause the writing to appear on the picture when it is scanned.

Can I submit any photograph?

You may submit any photograph as long at it is your own personal property or you have obtained the right or permission to reproduce the photograph. By ordering a custom photo gift, you confirm that you own the rights to the photograph(s) or have obtained relevant permission(s) to use the photograph(s) prior to submitting an order. Shutterbugz will not be held responsible for any discrepancies which involve the license holder and the customer who submits the photograph.

Can I add the same image to the backside of my photo accessory?

Yes. Some products have this option.

 




Can I use two different photos for each side of my handbag?


Yes!  It is an additional fee for two different photos.  Where offered, the fee is indicated in the pricing section of the products page.

If my photo needs to be retouched, can you take care of it?


Yes.  We can do some minor modifications.  We can change the photo from colour to Black and White or Sepia toned, and we can crop your photo.  It is important to note that some photos will require cropping in order for the picture to fit on the product.

What is Sepia toned and can I change the colour of the photo?


Sepia tone is a "brass antique" photographic finish which causes your photograph to look vintage.  We can turn your photo into this look if you'd like.  We can also turn a colour photograph into Black & White.  It's your choice!

How is image cropped and sized?

Designers will crop and size your photograph to fit the construction of the bag. As a result, the image that will be on your bag may be slighter different in size and shape from the original image that was submitted.




 

What do I need to know about cropping?


Your image will become an integral part of your bag.  In order to accomplish this, make sure the image is centered and is the main focal point.  Keep anything you don't want cut away or absorbed by the seam allowance ½" to 1" away from the edge.  This way the integrity of your image is preserved.  Be sure to place any wording at least 3 inches from the edge.

Can a vertically framed picture work for a photo bag?


In most cases, it is preferred if the picture is horizontal (landscape), but we can make some vertical (portrait) pictures work.

Is it safe to send you my only treasured photo?

 

If you are sending a hardcopy photo, please do not send us your only copy.  We'd hate for anything to happen to a photograph that means a lot to you.  Please make a copy and send that to us.

How are your purses and diaper bags made?

 

BC coded products:     Your picture goes through our special transfer process.   It is processed right into a bridal satin or poly ultra suede fabric.  This process impregnates the image into the fabric of your choice.  Both fabrics will bring your image 'to life' and are very durable.  The image is then made into the bag of your choice. 

 

HD coded products:     Our purses and diaper bags are made from durable cotton fabrics and bridal satin.  The photos that you send to us are not printed on the fabric and are not an iron on transfer.  Our process actually infuses dyes into the fabric.  This ensures that the photo will not crack, peel, or fade.

 

ST coded products:      The photograph is printed on a white high quality micro fiber. The rest of the bag is also constructed with an extremely durable micro fiber.  The photograph is actually "baked" into the fabric with what is known as a sublimation process. This sublimation process creates a photo that is literally embedded into the fabric. The result is an extremely clear image that will not fade, crack or peel.

What is the "Looking Glass Finish" on BC coded products?


"Looking Glass" is a vinyl covering over your print.  It can be added at an extra cost to BC coded bags.

How long will it take to receive my order?

 

BC coded products:     All orders are estimated to arrive within 4-6 weeks from when the order is received.  This is an estimated time of delivery.  There may be delays due to production schedules, but we will do our best to adhere to this time frame. 

 

HD coded products:     Although we cannot guarantee an exact delivery date, you should receive your order within 4 to 6 weeks of your order date.  We strive to complete all orders as quickly as possible.

 

ST coded products:      Your customized bag will take approximately 2-3 weeks to be completed and shipped. Orders cannot be processed until all information is received with the photograph/digital image.

 

VV coded products:     Please allow 2-3 weeks for your order to ship for the smaller items, and approximately 6-8 weeks for the purses and totes, from the time we receive your photos.

Can I rush my order?


 BC coded products:     Rush fees are an additional $65 per bag.  An expected delivery time is 3-4 weeks from when order is received.


 HD coded products:     The rush fee is $35 per "rushed" item.  Rush requests will be evaluated on a case by case basis to determine if it is feasible to place your order ahead of other customers.

 The Rush Fee basically puts your order in the front of the production line allowing you to receive your order faster.

Can you guarantee delivery on exact dates?


No.  Due to the many details that go into producing your custom photo gift, we cannot guarantee an exact date for delivery.

What if it is past the timeframe given and I haven't received my order?


This may be due to the demand of services.  You can always contact us via email to check on the progress of your photo gift.

How will my order be shipped?


BC coded products:     All orders are sent Priority mail.

HD coded products:     All orders are sent by USPS Priority mail.

ST coded products:      All orders are sent to the address you specify via USPS or UPS.

How much is shipping?

Can I pay extra for overnight shipping or expedited shipping?

 

BC coded products:     Yes.  Please indicate that you wish to have your order sent overnight.  The additional cost will be added to your order. 

 

HD coded products:     Yes.  Please contact us to receive a quote on the additional shipping charges.

What forms of payment do you accept?

 

We accept payment by cash, cheque, money order, credit card and Paypal.  All cheques will need to clear in order for the production of your custom photo gift to begin.  Please do not send cash in the mail.

Are taxes included in the cost of the products?

 

No.  Taxes are additional.



 

What is your refund and/or guarantee policy?

 

BC coded products:     Each bag is custom made and therefore we do not offer any refunds.  All sales are final.  We guarantee a 30-day warranty against any defects that may have occurred during production.  The guarantee DOES NOT cover normal wear and tear of the product.  If it is necessary to send your item back, you must call for authorization before doing so.

 

HD coded products:     Due to the personalized nature of these products, we are unable to provide refunds.  However, if you discover within the first 30 days that your product is defective, you may return it for repair or replacement.  Replacement will only be offered we are unable to repair your product.


ST coded products:      Due to the personalization of these items, we do not offer returns or refunds. All sales are final.



How should my bag be cleaned?

 

BC coded products:     When you receive your bag, we suggest that you scotch guard it.  Apply one layer and then let dry.  Then go back over it again with one more layer.  Your handbag is pretty durable, but does need some cleaning maintenance from time to time.  We suggest spot treating your handbag with basic soap and water.  Use a wet towel and dab dirt off the bag.  Let dry and then scotch guard.  Some handbag users have brought them into professional handbag cleaners as well.

 

HD coded products:     For every day cleaning, use a damp cloth to spot clean your bag.  Your bag may also be dry cleaned.  Although the materials used in the production of your bag are washable, washing it either by hand or in a washing machine is not advised.  This may cause your bag to lose it's shape.

 

ST coded products:      You should apply Scotchguard or a similar product that will repel moisture and water when you first receive the bag. When cleaning the bag, please use a damp soft towel with warm soapy water to remove dirt from the bag.

Will they fade and are they waterproof?

 

HD coded products:     Your photos will not fade or run.  We use a special process that infuses dyes into the material.  If you feel the need for additional protection, you can also scotch guard your purse or diaper bag.


VV coded products:     Our products are made with a very heavy "wedding" satin. They are not waterproofed, but can be scotch guarded and cosmetics bags can be washed on a gentle cycle or by hand.
