Are SiteKreator websites Search Engine friendly?

Yes, SiteKreator websites feature search engine friendly URLs, properly structured code and the ability to set search keywords and description. As search engines index sites whose content is frequently updated better, the fact that you can easily manage the content on your site will also help achieve good search engine visibility.

Why doesn't my website appear in search results?

It may take up to 2 months after your site get published, linked from other websites before search engines crawl and index it.  If your site content is relevant and sites in the same sphere link back to your website, good search engine rankings will follow up.

How can I improve my website performance in the search engine results? 

Nothing can help improve your search engine rankings more than relevant content with high keywords density and links to your site from other, highly popular websites in the same sphere. However, in order to facilitate search engines in indexing your site well you can consider:

• Adding appropriate keywords to your SiteKreator website. The option is available from the Control Panel  icon -> "Site Properties" > "Special features" > "Site Keywords" and from Control Panel  icon -> "Page Properties" > "Special features" > "Keywords"
• Submitting your site to the most popular search engines and directories: MSN, Google, Yahoo, WhatUSeek, DMOZ

How can I add a favicon to my SiteKreator website?

In order to add a favicon to your site, you have to insert an HTML snippet and add the following code in it:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://sitekreator.com/yourlogin/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

Before that you should upload the favicon image using the "Site Static Files" upload feature. To do that, please enter Admin mode of your site, open Site Properties section from the Control Panel , expand the "Special features" section and upload the file from the "Site Static Files" field.  After you upload the file, it will have the following constant URL: http://sitekreator.com/yourlogin/favicon.ico.

Please note that the upload of favicon is available only for our Business and Power subscriptions.

Can I upload Search-engine optimization files in the root folder of my Web site?

Yes, you can. In the SiteKreator 2.2 version we introduced the option to upload SEO-related files (such as Google Sitemaps, Robots.txt, Alexa info files, etc.) to the root folder of all sites who are using our business designs. Here are the steps you can follow to upload your SEO files:

1. Log in to Admin mode of your site and from the Control Panel icon choose "Site properties"
2. Expand the "Special features" section - you should see the "Site Static Files" field
3. Click on the Browse button to find the file on your computer and press the Upload button.
4. The file should now appear on the same section with options to View or Delete it.

The file will have the following constant URL http://sitekreator.com/yourlogin/file_name.txt/xml/etc.

Please note that the option to upload site static files is available only for our Business and Power subscriptions.
