Subnavigation

Subnavigation is available just for the main menu in each design. To add a menu subitem, first add a main menu item. Then rollover the Edit icon  of the Menu item and select Add > Menu Subitem. Just like with main menu items, you may choose to link the menu subitem to a page, or to an external URL. To edit a menu subitem rollover the menu subitem Edit Icon  and select Properties. You can also delete, move up and down, hold a menu subitem, as well as cut, copy and paste it.

Per-page navigation

The per-page navigation is a new type of navigation introduced with Aurora design. It allows to have different navigation on different sets of pages.

To add per-page navigation rollover the Navigation Area icon positioned just below the title of your Aurora page > Properties > select Add new per-page menu from Navigation Menu dropdown. Type a name for your per-page menu and click Update. A menu  icon is now displayed. Rollover the Menu  icon and add menu items (Add > Menu item).

To display an already created per-page navigation on some page roll over the Navigation Area  icon on that page > Properties > select the navigation name the Navigation Menu dropdown.

Navigation colors

The option for navigation color is available only for those navigation menus which have the option for subnavigation.  To change the color of some navigation item rollover the Menu item edit icon  > Properties > select the desired color from Color dropdown. Note that all submenu items (if any) will inherit the color of the main menu item.

A combination of the Menu color themes and Page color themes features is specifically useful if you want to color-code sets of pages on your site thematically - i.e. have all Products menus and pages in blue, all Services related pages and menus in red etc.

Menu layout options

Different menu layouts are available for the main navigation in Aurora design. To change the menu layout rollover the Menu  icon > Properties. A preview of the selected menu layout is displayed on the right. Select the desired combination of effects and click Update.

Page color themes

The page color theme is an option that will let you color differently specific elements in your site, as shown on the visuals below. The page color theme may be changed from Control Panel  icon > Page properties > Page Color Theme.

Page color theme will change the following in your design:

Page header images

The page header images are an optional feature. We have selected for you a set of suitable images to use, but you may also upload your own image.
The page header image is editable from Page properties (rollover the Control Panel icon in Admin view of your site > Page Properties) > Image. To upload your own image choose Image > Custom Image and select the location of the image in the Browse field displayed below. If you upload an image with size bigger than the recommended one, only the top right part of it will be displayed. On the other hand, if you upload an image with size smaller than the recommended one - there will be blank space around it.

Page templates

Unlike standard designs where the page template is just one, in the business designs the page templates are up to 3: Inside page template (all business designs), Home page template (all business designs but Charcoal), Splash page template (Aurora only).

The differences between Home and Inside page template are:

  • The size of the page header image is different in the two templates
  • In Cocoa and FutureTech you may have sections at the bottom of a page using Home page template, but not at the bottom of a page using Inside page template
  • In Home page template the sections to the right of the page header image may contain News, this option is missing for Inside page template

The splash page template in Aurora is an empty page area appropriate for uploading flash intro files or other custom-designed content.
To switch the template used for your page open Page properties > Special Features > Show Options > Template.

Sections

The content sections allow for a more flexible organization of the content on the page. Using sections you may have some information stand out visually among the other content on the page. Sections are especially useful for company news, intro texts, featured products, information highlights. In each section you can add text and images, files, news, advanced elements.

The ability to add sections in the different areas of your pages depends on the selected design and page template.

  • If you use Cocoa or FutureTech site design:
    • on Home page template you may add sections in the area to the right, to the left of the main content area and at the bottom of the page.
    • on Inside page template you may add sections in the area to the right and to the left of the main content area.
  • If you use Charcoal site design you may add sections in the area to the right of the main content area.
  • If you use Aurora design you may add sections to the right, to the left of the content area as well as in the main content area.

The business templates feature 2 types of section layout:

  • Advanced: allows both horizontal and vertical positioning of the sections, currently available in Aurora only
  • Simple: allows horizontal positioning of the sections in main area, and vertical positioning of the sections in left/right area only

Simple section layout

To add a section in the area to the right of the main content, rollover the icon > Add > Section. Set a section name and submit. The section title will now appear and to the right of it you will see the Section Edit Icon . To add content inside the already added section rollover the Section icon  on its right> Add > choose the content you wish to add. You may add another section either by rolling over the icon > Add > Section or by rolling over any Section icon  > Add > Section.

To add a section at the bottom of a page using Home page template - roll over the icon on bottom right of your page > Add > Horizontal layout . The horizontal layout  will let you distribute all section space in between the sections you add, and define the spacing between them. To start adding sections in the already added horizontal layout roll over the Horizontal layout icon  > Add > Section. To add more sections rollover the icon again > Add > Section or just rollover any section icon  > Add. To edit the properties of a section rollover the  icon > Properties.

Text style options and Custom CSS upload

The text style options will let you change the font used for all text content on your site. To change the text style on your Aurora site rollover the Control Panel  icon in the Admin view of your site and select Site Properties > Special Features > Font Theme. If you don't find a suitable font style among the 4 suggested ones - you can upload your own CSS file by selecting a CSS file in the Custom Styles box.

If you need to review the applied text style changes before publishing them live, click Update and select the Preview option from the confirmation popup box.

Text resize

The text resize option  located at top right of Aurora template will let your site visitors increase or decrease the default font size used throughout your site. 3 font size options are available.

Site color themes

The site color theme defines the appearance of basic elements in your site such as site title, sections, etc., as shown on the visuals below. To change the site color theme rollover the Control Panel  icon in the Admin view of your site and select Site Properties > Color Theme.

If your business site is displayed under a domain you own, Google search result will be restricted within your SiteKreator website only. The search box may be removed from Site Properties > Special Features > choose No search from Embedded Search dropdown.

Custom copyright text

The option to set custom copyright text is available in the footer of your website in Admin view. If you set a custom copyright text, the whole copyright text will look like this:

<your copyright text> Powered by SiteKreator.

To add custom copyright rollover the footer icon  located in the left part of your site footer area > Add > Text and Images. To keep your copyright text consistent with the rest of your footer text you can apply style Copyright to it.

Footer icons

You can control the appearance of the Edit, Email and Print icons located at bottom right of your site, as well as enable anddisable these icons. To change the footer icons appearance rollover the Footer  icon > Properties. Choose the appearance of your icons (text only, icons only, or text and icons), select which of the icons you need displayed and click Update.

Content resize

The content resize option  located at top right in Aurora design will allow your site visitors to flexibly adjust the width of your site depending on their screen resolution. By clicking the resize  option the site design will automatically expand to take up approximately 90% of the user's browser area.

Static files upload

The static files upload feature will let you add search engine-related or other files in the root folder of your website. To upload static files rollover the Control Panel  icon in the Admin view of your site > Special Features > Site Static Files. Immediately after upload your files become accessible as sitekreator.com/<yourlogin>/<filename> or, if you have a custom domain defined, as <customdomain>/<filename>.
