HTML Snippet
The HTML Snippet allows you to add a small piece of HTML, JavaScript and CSS code inside the content area on your site. You can use this functionality to easily integrate PayPalTM Buy Now buttons or Shopping cart within your site or add external tools such as Google Analytics, Google AdSense and others. More advanced users may also use the HTML Snippet to integrate small custom-programmed tools and functions inside their website.
The HTML Snippet cannot be used for modifying the design, installing back-end scripting on the server or as a substitute of the content editing interface.
To add an HTML Snippet reach for the top menu and click Add Content > HTML Snippet. Green rectangles will appear to indicate the locations where the snippet may be added. Choose a location by clicking on a green rectangle and the Add HTML Snippet popup will be displayed. Add the code inside the box and Submit.
To access all editing options for the HTML snippet roll over it and then roll over the blue
icon displayed on top left.
To edit an HTML Snippet choose Edit from the list of options or simply click the
icon. - To move an HTML Snippet select Move from the
icon options. Green rectangles will denote the locations where the Snippet may be moved. Click the desired location. - To delete an HTML Snippet choose Delete. A Red rectangle will denote the Snippet to be deleted.
- To hide an HTML Snippet in end-user view but leave it in Admin view, choose Hide from viewers. Hidden Snippets will appear grayed in Admin. To make the Snippet visible again choose Show to viewers from the
icon options. - To cut or copy and then paste an HTML Snippet choose Cut or Copy from the
icon options. From the
icon displayed on top select the cut/copied item and choose the location for pasting it by clicking on a green rectangle. - To duplicate an HTML Snippet click the Duplicate option and a copy of the original Snippet will be created.
- If you select several HTML snippets you may cut, copy, paste, duplicate and delete them all at once. A pink rectangle will denote all items you selected and for which the desired action will be applied.
An HTML Snippet may also be added inside the Text and Images editor. This will let you easily position the snippet among your other text, align it, add the snippet inside a table, etc. See more on this option here.
When adding custom code inside an HTML Snippet users are advised to double-check its correctness as faulty code pasted in the HTML snippet can spoil the appearance of a site or cause problems with the proper functioning of the website editing tools.
