Posting News

 

Some designs (Bright Flowers, Minimalistic, all business designs etc) have a news section. Each news item in this section features short text and link to a "more info" page.
 

Adding News section and individual News items:

  • If your design has the option toadd News, you'll see an  icon to the left / right end of your site. Rollover theicon.

  • Choose Add >> News  . Fill in the state,date and short text for your news.

  • From Link todropdown choose what "more info" link should display. This could be some pagefrom your site, an external URL ora new page.

  • Submit.You could now see your news on all pages, in Admin view. To makethem visible in Normal view, however, allpages of your site should be published.Rollover the (Control Panel) icon, choose Manage Pages . Thereappears the button.

 

You could delete news either one by one or several at a time:

  • To delete news one by one: rollover the News Edit icon for thefirst news item to be deleted. ChooseEdit  >> Delete  . Move to the next news you wish to delete and repeat the same.

  • To delete several news at atime: rollover the News Edit icon for the first news item to be deleted. Choose Select. Move tothe next news you wish to delete and repeat the same.After you selected the last menuitem, again rollover its Edit icon and
    choose Delete. All selected news items have gone now.

  • After your news have been deleted inAdmin view, to make them disappear from end-user viewas well.
     

To remove a news section from some page:

  • Enter Admin view for that page.

  • Rollover the (News Group) icon and choose Edit  >> Delete .

  • Publish the page. 

 

To archive news which are already old, but you wish keep them available on the site:

  • Rollover theNews Item icon  and choose Properties.

  • In the Propertiespopup change the state drop-down to Archived.

  • Submit. The news item will be removed from the list of active news and an 'Archive' linkwill now appear below all news taking visitors to the list of already archived newsitems.

 

Please note that the News items are the same for all pages on the site that feature a News Area.

  • That is why you can't have different news on the different pages.

  • If you update some news item you can publish the update to the Normal view from any page that has a News area added.
