The elementary school of Yarou Plateau, Mali received a small amount of money from the government to start a school lunch program.  Some of the students walk from distant villages to attend classes, and if they go home for lunch they can never make it back in time for afternoon classes.  Many of the students' families don't always have enough food to serve their children a hearty lunch.  The school director, parents, and students were grateful for the assistance.  However, they had nowhere to store the millet they were to buy for the lunches or the cooking pots and serving utensils they were given.  The director helped by storing the cooking supplies in his home, and the village chief offered to store a small amount of millet in his house.  But, as the price of millet climbed, they were unable to continue purchasing it to feed the students.  They soon realized that they needed a building dedicated to storing the food and supplies for the school lunches, so that they could buy the year's worth of millet after the harvest when the price was lowest.  Tandana hired a contractor to provide the foundation, roof, and doors for the building and bought cement for the villagers to weatherproof the joints.  Villagers broke stones and built the walls.  They are very pleased to have the completed building for storing all the supplies.
