Rudy Lopez started the “Show & Tell” session at 6:45pm.  Several people displayed and discussed their work.

Rudy brought meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

Pat was excused as she was attending a class.  We are looking forward to her return so she can be recognized for her fine work as President.

Rudy reminded folks to pay their donations.

Tim announced that we needed to more club shirt orders before we can submit the order.

Rudy called Cody to the front where he was awarded two certificates for his achievements in wood turning.

Minutes from Last Meeting – In notebook at Sandra’s table for all to review.  Treasurer’s Report and Meeting Minutes will always be available for review during the meetings.

Old Business:

Review of Florida Symposium activities and attendance.  37 people from our club attended and several of our members were part of the planning committee.  We are looking for replacements for Jim Smith’s responsibilities.  Anyone interested in serving on the planning committee or helping in any way with the Symposium should contact Rudy.

Bob Winter was awarded a hollow vessel turned by Rudy for all of his help and work at the Florida Symposium.  Bob is the auctioneer (amazing skill!) and regularly donates wood to the auction resulting in significant monies for the effort.

The Jimmy Clewes Demo is to be held at our location on March 6th.  The donation is $25 per person and it includes lunch.  See the website for additional information about Jimmy.  Steven Marlow announced that the Largo club has two slots that they will not need for the three day hands-on course with Jimmy.  The fee for the hands-on course is $350 and it will be held at the Hockenbery’s.

New Business:

The Florida State Fair starts this week.  Anyone interested in working the booth and/or doing demonstrations should contact Bob Winter.  Free admission for those working at the booth.

The Wood Show will be held at the State Fairgrounds on March 19-21.  Anyone interested in working at our booth at that event should contact Rudy.

Steve Marlow announced that the Largo club will have an all day hands-on class on Friday March 5th at their meeting location.  The class is limited to 8 people and there are three slots open.  The cost is $100 and lunch is included.  Must bring your own lathe.

Donation to Honor and Remember Charlie Mount.  It was noted that one of our founding members, Charlie Mount, had passed away.  A motion was made and passed that we send $100 to the AAW Educational Opportunity Grant program in remembrance of Charlie.

Hartville Tool provides our members with a 15% discount on purchases and then sends the club an additional 3% of the purchase amount at the end of the year.  To receive the discount, however, we must supply Hartville Tool with a list of members, their addresses and phone numbers.  They have a list now, but it is out of date.  If you do NOT want your information shared with Hartville Tool, you should tell Tim Gates.  Hartville Tool does not distribute, sell or share our member information with other groups or companies.
