Dennis Perez opened meeting at 6:58 recognizing 5 guests and 1 new member.

 

The minuets were read by the Secretary, Amos Carreiro and accepted into the record with

no changes.

The Treasurer, Bill Meukel read the financial statement and it was accepted into the

record with no changes.

Dennis cautioned the members on the safe use of bandsaw and other power equipment.

New Business

The introduced the new show & tell arrangement to the membership and explained the

reason for it.

Dennis proposed that the club purchase coffee cups in recognition of the 10th anniversary

of the club as a way to honor founders of the club. Bill Meukel gave the members the

details about details, George Dinsmore proposed we get a gross and a half of the mugs

Roy seconded the motion, the motion passed

Dennis asked the member if they would be interested in a Saturday workshop there was

an interest with our new members

The Secretary, Amos Carreiro asked about cards and brochures for the State Fair, Dennis

was making some up.

Pat Hess, Vice President gave the details of next months competition for bird houses and

encouraged members to bring one in.

Next months demonstrator is Rudy Lopez.

The Tampa Woodworking show booth was discussed for March 20th – 22nd, Al and

Sherry Hockenbery will email the members with details

Dennis explained that the club had received a letter from the Lake Yale Symposium

saying what a great job we did and donated $1,000.00 for continuing education for club

members that have never gone to Lake Yale. Jim Smith talked about a partial sponsorship

of 5 members who at never attended the Florida Wood Turning Symposium.

Dennis discussed the possibility of Mike Hosaluk demonstrating for us in March 2009,

Glenn & Pat Hess will discus this further.
