November 12th – Pork  barbecue at Glenn’s.  Starts at 1pm, bring drinks.  Bring a dish.

            Reminder – votive candle challenge – next month.

 

            Florida Symposium – look for tools or other items to donate to the auction.

             

 

Old Business

           

Great class on Saturday – Bowl Class/Gouge Class; Rudy thanked everyone who helped with setup, clean up and the teachers.

            Band saw blades are available – pick them up – but pay Rudy first.

AnchorSeal – Craftsman Supply bought 55 gal drum – keeps price down.  $12 for our members; $16 or so at Craftsman Supply; check with Reed.

 

Buy and Sell

 

Don Avery has a friend who has a ShopSmith available for $1,000 but it is negotiable.

 

14x5 tandem axel trailer with winch on the front – Bob Winter.

 

Couple large dual axel trailers

 

Looking for a 36 inch Vega duplicator.

 

Raffle

 

Judy raffled off several items including wood, vacuum system, etc.

 

Show and Tell

 

Several people brought in pieces – bowls, platters, votive candle holders, inside out turning, vases, cane, mallet, red-neck wine glass, segmented top and vase, etc.

           

Demonstration

 

The demonstration was provided by Al Hockenbery.  He showed us how to do a suspended spherical form.  This is a unique turning art form that Al has developed over twenty years of woodturning.
