Dennis Perez brought the meeting to order at 7pm…Welcomed new members and guests…

Treasurer’s report read by Phil…

 

He spoke about tonight being election of officer’s night…

 

Our Xmas Dinner will be at the next meeting on Dec. 3rd…We will have Larry Jackson supply our main course of meat which will be a Prime Rib, new potatoes with Au Jus and members need to bring a dish to pass… We will have as we always do out Chinese Auction…Please bring a turned gift or something that has to do with turning if you do not make a turned gift… Please either wrap the gift or place it in a gift bag with some paper around it…The gift will be only passed 3 times on the 3rd time it finds it’s home…We always have lots of fun with this exchange…

 

Nov. 15 at 1pm Glenn & Jean will hold their annual BBQ serving Pork and members can bring a dish to pass… Al Hockenberry will show us how to cut a Maple Burl…and there will be lots turning going on…Bring you spouse or significant others or just another friend and enjoy…

 

Jim Smith has done a great job by placing Paypal on our website for us to pay our next years dues… He is also setting up a button for donations to our Turning Demos by the Masters coming up…

George spoke of the Florida State Fair coming up and the deadline to enter your pieces is Dec. 12th…You pieces do not have to be finished but you need to sign up what category you are going to enter…

 

We took a show of hands how many members would be interested in a John Jordan Demo… About 22 hands went up…

 

We held the election of Officers for the year 2009:  the following were nominated and voted in as our new officers…

President – Pat Hess

Rudy Lopez if out demonstrator tonight… He will be showing us Don Geiger’s new hollowing tool…He will show us how it works and will invite AAW Members to come up and try it…
