Providing a foster home for one of our animals while they are waiting to find their forever home is one of the greatest things you can do to make a positive difference in the lives of these critters. Foster families provide a loving home environment and work on socialization and manners while caring for their basic needs.

Typically, we provide foster families with all necessary housing, accessories, food, etc. Once the supplies need replenishing, the foster family may take on the responsibility of buying it. Alternatively, the Foster Family can come to the rescue to replenish supplies free of charge. We can also deliver if necessary!

Because we are extremely busy, we really appreciate if foster families can commit as much time and effort as possible concerning the animals in their care. For example, bringing animals to us so that we can administer vaccinations, or taking an animal to the vet for checkups. If this is not possible, however, The McDonald Rescue will be responsible for anything the Foster Family is unable to do or provide.

 

We are always looking for Dog, Cat, Rabbit and Guinea Pig foster homes. We would like to develop a network of available foster homes for Parrots and Ferrets as well. We do NOT typically require foster homes for reptiles and small exotics.
