Due to serious health problems within the family, The McDonald Rescue is sad to announce that we are no longer taking in any surrenders or doing any active rescues.  

We have handed over the cat adoption facility at Petcetera to SAFE Team, a recently established responsible rescue. SAFE team has numerous kittens and cats up for adoption; these rescues have all been fixed, vaccinated and micro-chipped. The SAFE Team members are at Petcetera everyday so you can be sure that your cat will be healthy and that your adoption will go smoothly.

We still have many animals available for adoption. We will continue to give them the best of care and will house them at either our rescue facility or within foster homes. We have numerous spays and neuters to attend to and ongoing vet care. We also have two animals, the tegu and the Sulcata Tortoise, that we are raising money to send to appropriate sanctuaries in a more suitable climate.

We have a number of animals that we continue to provide sanctuary to.

We are drastically reducing our adoption fees but not the level of care provided to the animals prior to being adopted. The application process remains the same.
