As the Artist in Residence at the Oak Park Police Department I'm creating conceptual drawings based on the challenges and tools of law enforcement from a citizen's perspective.  The purpose of the work is to understand the challenges faced everyday by law enforcement professionals and to  create work in support of the department. I want to share the drawings with other communities so citizens can understand and appreciate these hard working professionals and support their mission to serve and protect.

I'd like to express my appreciation to the members of the Oak Park Police Department and Chief Rick Tanksley for their support with this project.   I can not imagine life in our village without all of them.

Materials and experimentation are an  important  part of my studio practice and finding creative uses for materials in the service of expressing an idea engages me creatively.  You can read more about my love of process and the  use of materials by visiting  the Tools of the Trade Blog.
