UPDATE: 12/07- Man, it's a pain to update my work bio as things are really beginning to take off.I'll do the best I can and keep a lookout for 2008 to be a big year of changes for me and zom-bot.com!
Travis has been drawing on any available
surface since he could wield a crayon.
In high school he produced 5 issues of a self-published
comic titled "TOEJAMBOREE" that somehow managed
to find readers in Europe as well as get reviewed in
print by Dave Sim of 'Cerebus' fame.
With dreams of one day getting back into a meaningful
career in sequential art, Travis hunts down design work
that is both stimulating and challenging to his old-school
illustration styles, as well as those that develop his
graphic design. He spends his free time making band
posters, tattoo flash for friends and clients, logo and
character creation, and apparel design.
Most recently he is a regular illustration contributor to
the River Front Times (RFT) in St. Louis, the Kansas City PITCH,
and a go-to guy for character design and logowork from
Planet Studio in Atlanta, creating mascots for schools,
businesses and Pharmaceutical companies.
He is a Eight-time-awarded designer at
threadless.com - a t-shirt design contest with a healthy
focus on its artistic community.
He also has shirts available at shirtstain.com, and a
designer at LUCKYTHREADZ.COM, where his Star Wars
parody designs were recently featured in STUFF
magazine.
UPDATE: tons of shirts at luckythreadz.com and more printing soon!
This seond, he is designing a new bumpersticker for the
coolest independant radio station in the world,
WFMU 91.1/90.1in New Jersey. In the same sub-cultural vein, he has had illustrations
published by
the Church of the SubGenius,
and collaborated on a book of tee designs with his friends from
the threadless community, called "DO NOT IRON" -
(link to sales site coming soon)
Travis also contributed a short story called "the Custodians of Justice"
to a graphic novel compilation that will be distributed in February
of 2007, and designed a shirt for WIRED magazine's NEXT FEST
in conjunction with Threadless in 2005.
With his winnings, freelance work and fan base of international
friends and artists, he hopes to produce
a small line of guerilla-style designs printed onto quality
recycled clothing from thrift stores and other sources.
Once that ball gets rolling, he plans to expand and return
to graphic novels, sell archival prints
and other merchandise.
...and maybe build a robot.
He lives in Savannah Ga with a stray cat and a scooter.
