In school I drew pictures instead of listening to the teacher (Bad Bill!), and did several oils and drawings in college. Click here to see some of my early works.  But during my senior year, I put down my brushes, leaving a painting incomplete, and never picked up another brush nor did any serious drawing until January, 2005, when I began taking my first watercolor class.  I guess life conspires to open doors when the time is right.  I have worked in several media to find the ones that suit me best, and today, I am working primarily in oils and graphite.  I am a member of the Oil Painters of America, The Portrait Society of America, Allied Artists of America, the York (PA) Art Association (YAA) and the Harford County (MD) Artists Association.   I have been juried into several national, have won several awards, and completed a one-artist show in January, 2007.  I was one of the winners of the Rottler Award for Excellence in the Arts this year, and my works are included in American and European collections, and am Coordinator for the Gallery Group at the YAA.  I am available for commissions for portraits of people and pets.

The following website has for sale reproductions of many of my works at reasonable

prices:  http://fineartamerica.com/shop/william-erwin.html  If you would like a reproduction of any of my works, I can upload the file to Fine Art America, just let me know.

You are invited to contact me about sales, commissions or any other thing.  I'm looking forward to meeting you.
