The Yellow Springs Art Stroll will be held Friday evening, October 19, starting at 6 o'clock. A traditional event, featuring art and food, it is looked forward to by hundreds of visitors. Stores featuring a specific artist will be designated by balloons flying outside the shop's door.
Participating Venues
1. Hip Joint( Senior Center 227 Xenia Ave) �Celebration of Street Art & Art Party� hosted by the Yellow Springs Arts Council
2. Village Artisans Gallery, besides featuring work from their 20 members, will be holding a reception for Scott Kissell, member photographer, who will have an exhibit of his photography, "Scenes from Yellow Springs."
3. "would you could you IN A FRAME" will be featuring the paintings of jafagirl Corrine Bayraktaroglu
4. Epic Bookshop & Mermaid Cafe will have a book reading by the author (Raymond Ruka) and illustator (Libby Rudolf) of "THE FAMILY TREE OF THE RAINBOW". Along with Illustrations for sale by Libby, painters Jade McConnell, Travis Hotaling, and Pierre Nagley, will also have work displayed and for sale with the artist's present throughout the evening
5. See Spot Run in Kings Yard at 230 Xenia Ave
6. Nolaa Gallery will be open and has the wacky Art Ball Machine. In Kings Yard
7. Deja Vu, 241 Xenia Avenue, will proudly feature fabric art created and handmade by local Yellow Springs artist, Ashlee Thomas-Ely. Several of her works will be displayed including afghans, hats, scarves, purses, etc., which make beautiful one-of-a-kind gifts. Ashlee's items will be for sale during Art Stroll. Special orders can be taken and made available in time for the holidays.
8. Creative Explorations, a private women's retreat studio located at 253 Xenia Avenue (above The Global Gallery) will be open to the public on Friday from 6 - 9 pm. Tour the facility and enjoy murals, textured walls and original paintings.
9. Sam & Eddie's OPEN BOOKS at 232 Xenia Ave presents THE LISTENING PROJECT by Migiwa Orimo and Louise Smith/77 and her students. An evolving art project exploring the interface between Antioch College and the community.
10. Julia Etta's Trunk features the work of Debbie Brown and hand formed jewelry
11. Emporium Underdog Cafe Art Stroll & Super Jam with paintings and mixed media by Pierre Nagely's and jamming great sounds by Greg "Duke" Dewey & Jim Volk
12. Toxic Beauty will feature limited edition music prints and concert photography
13. Winds Cafe is displaying "Expanded Visions" by Amy Achor with new and favorite works of photographic art.
14. Super-Fly Comics and Games will remain open
15. Sunrise Cafe is exhibiting "Day and Night", works in collage and mixed media by Patricia High
16. Rita Caz Jewelry Studio & Gallery in Kings Yard will present a gem and mineral show
17. Dark Star Bookstore will remain open
18. Glen Garden Gifts in Kings Yard will remain open
19. Yellow Springs Pottery in Kings Yard will remain open
