Candycane Child Care is an in-home family child care.

 The name "Candycane" came about in a rather

 humorous and unexpected fashion. 

  I was caring for my grandson Nico, who was not yet walking. 

 I gave him a candy cane, and while he was crawling around,

 exploring his surroundings, he threw the candy cane on the floor,

 and placed his sticky hand on the door.

To my amazement, he stood up, using the door for support,

leaving his little candy-coated handprint as he did so,

and waddled away!

This handprint was the inspiration for the name

of what is now considered a very loving and

caring, family-oriented place to bring your little ones!

 I am an in-home family child care facility. 

I am not a large child care center.

Being of a limited size, I believe playtime

will be less conflicting and more

constructive.  Lunch time will be

more enjoyable by the children,

as well as by those preparing the lunch

because it will not be a rushed process.

We allow one hour lunches.  Messy lunches

are expected.  Nap time is a breeze.  The

children are so active between 6:30-7:30 a.m. arrival time, followed by breakfast, play, dancing and singing, diaper changes and potty time, reading and of course, going

outside,(weather permitting) in our wonderful play

area, followed by lunch.  So, you can

understand why nap time is a pleasure for

them.
