My hats are unique, beautiful, warm and practical. They are made from 100% wool, with the surface decoration composed of various yarns and materials. The fur brims are made from the highest quality faux furs, lush, plush and gorgeous. Each hat is fully lined with micro-fiber fleece so they are very soft and warm to wear. I have had a love for textiles and everything fabric since a young kid building  Barbie Doll houses and outfits. My mother was an avid seamstress, so I credit her for enabling and  encouraging me to uncover the possibilities of textile craft. I graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology, located in Rochester, New York, in 1989 with a BFA in Textiles. My handmade felt pieces won awards twice in the International Textile Competition, based in Tokyo, Japan. In October of 1991, one of my full-length felted coats was selected  for "Threads" Magazine's Readers Showcase Competition. I grew up in Flint, Michigan. After graduating college, I lived in Japan for one and a half years teaching English. I moved back to the United States in 1989 and lived in Arizona where I worked building costumes for film and theater. I married my husband, Neil, a well-known Internet folk hero, in 1991 and we moved to Poulsbo, WA., in 1998
