What differentiates Diane Barber Designery from other designers?

In addition to providing exceptional design services supported by a design degree from a prestigious design school (FIDM, Los Angeles), Diane Barber has architectural drafting training and understands construction at a core level. "I love getting my hands dirty while blending the beauty of art and design with the nuts, bolts, dust and mortar of the building trades  In addition to bringing the artist in me to the table, I have a keen business sense that I gleaned from my former international business career."

What inspired Diane Barber's design career?

"My family’s Pennsylvania construction roots inspired my interior design career. My father and grandfather were general contractors and I began spending time in the family business as a helper when I was 12-years-old.  I have lived and breathed the construction trade most of my life and feel at home on any project site.  My parents also encouraged my childhood fascination with the arts."

You have an architect and contractor so why do you need an interior designer?

An interior designer collaborating with your architect and general contractor is key to the success of any design/build project.  The architectural design typically focuses on designing the structure, while the designer picks up where the architects leave off and specifies materials and finishes, surfaces, lighting and other key details that determines how owners will live in and enjoy their homes. General contractors appreciate when a good designer who understands the construction process is on  board. This saves the contractor time and the owner money by keeping the job on schedule without delays caused by indecision on products, electrical, plumbing, appliance selections and more.
